A Dubbo family business, more than thirty years in.
Liquid Investments Pty Ltd was founded in Dubbo in 1993 by Stephen and Janelle, delivering drinking water to homes and workplaces around the town. Today the business owns Summer Springs, Coffee Bean Roasting House and The Lab by Coffee Bean, and serves more than 4,000 active customers across regional NSW.
Owned by three regional families.
Stephen, David and Angus are the company’s directors. The business is run day to day by a management team based in Dubbo.

Early 1990s
Coffee Bean Roasting House opens in Tamworth
Coffee Bean was one of regional Australia’s early specialty roasters, and built its name supplying cafés and restaurants and training their staff.

Water delivery starts in Dubbo
Stephen and Janelle begin delivering drinking water around Dubbo as a Neverfail distributor.

2002
David and Janita join as owners
Over the following years the water business grows to cover more than 40% of NSW, with depots in Dubbo, Tamworth and Armidale.

2022
Angus and Lily join as owners
The same year, Coffee Bean’s Director’s Choice blend wins bronze in the latte category at the Melbourne Royal Coffee Competition.

2023
Summer Springs launches, and Coffee Bean wins gold
We launch our own water brand, Summer Springs. At the Royal Adelaide Coffee Awards, Coffee Bean wins two golds, two silvers and a bronze against more than 300 entries.

2024
Our own spring water, and The Lab opens
Summer Springs starts bottling spring water from its own regional NSW sources. In May, The Lab by Coffee Bean opens at the front of the Dubbo roastery.

September 2026
Big Springs Water joins Summer Springs
We acquire Big Springs Water in Parkes, bringing its customers across to Summer Springs.
Dubbo, Tamworth and Armidale.
Head office and the Dubbo roastery are at 15 Douglas Mawson Road, Dubbo. Our teams in Tamworth and Armidale look after the North West and New England.
